opening_hours syntax is wrong, "Opening date" should be start_datee, "Payment options" should be payment:method=yes (payment:cash=yes, etc.), phone should be telephone, Twitter should be contact:twitter, and you should add a more descriptive tag like craft=fence (double check that this is the correct tag).

Should service_times be opening_hours instead? Either way the syntax is wrong

I'm sorry, but I don't see how he was being insulting. Furthermore, what may work for you doesn't necessarily work for everyone else. This is why such principles as "don't tag for the renderer" exist. I hate to take it in this direction, but you do need to conform to tagging principles and avoid arguing with other users about their application. If you don't want to hear it from me, then I can refer you to the Data Working Group.

If this issue is very important to you, the best solution is to come up with a design proposal for OSM Carto and OSMAnd for leisure=animal_hitch. But breaking the map is never allowed.

I've never tagged such a thing before, but I see relation/14222679 using a route relation with network = lpn and route = canoe. Something similar might work.

These names should probably be refs instead. Depending on the size, waterway=ditch may be more appropriate.

I realize this discussion has been one-on-one so far, but what Hufkratzer says does reflect community-wide consensus. While there is no OSM police, moderators absolutely do ensure OSM principles are applied by correcting data such as that which you have mapped.

Edit-measuring contests are childish, and don't work in your favor anyhow, as Hufkratzer has contributed to the OSM wiki and various code repositories. What you are doing is called "tagging for the renderer", which you can read about on said wiki. The basic principle is to not break OSM just to fix some map. Using the wrong tag might make sense for your use, but it confuses everyone else.

Hufkratzer has very nicely offered several solutions that don't go against the principles of the site. No one is trying to make themselves "feel important", we're just trying to improve the correctness of the map. Your map is no more valuable than anyone else's. Keep that in mind when deciding whether it's a big deal to "break" it for everyone else for your own needs.

While trying to connect a road to many crosswalks, sometimes the suggested fixes move positions and I end up clicking the wrong one. Oops.
