I am *adding* multilingual names (especially name:be, int_name, but also name:et, name:de, name:fi, name:pl, name:lt and name:lv tags. If you are talking about the 2 or 3 German names that were in it, they were totally wrong. Not correct phonetically in Russian, Belarusian nor German.
You will be more than disappointed because as my name is not Tomas Straupis, I added a lot of name:de tags where they are relevant and where the names really do exist :) In Belarus and in Latvia :)
Btw, I had already notified the DWG about this issue on Belarusian soil so they know why I am doing that :P
Contrary the the Polish, Latvian etc. names you have been deleting all around Lithuania, those German names were nowhere to be found either in Wiki either in any other sources like pre-war maps or governmental documents. What would you do if you would see some name:en tag that instead of "Vilnius" says "Vylnys" or "Velnias"? You would keep it, right? Knowing that you won't find that name anywhere? :) Neither in Wiki, neither in governmental documents, neither in archive documents? :) Of course you would :)
In your case, Tomas, you deleted my names despite you knew *very well* they do exist and they are present in various sources. Just in order to vandalize my work and the work of people like me trying to promote tourism in Lithuania for foreigners, which is good for your country. Be happy you haven't been banned. As of yet.
It's ironic you've suddenly become so international, Tomas? But of course, only when it's convenient for you? :) lol I'm afraid you hate me from the very beginning because you are a totally narrow-minded guy, totally blinded by your hatred towards Poles and everything what is Polish. Fortunately, less and less people here in Lithuania have this mentality "Lietuva Lietuvams" because more than 25% of your population has left and they do realize people from abroad are not that bad. Even Polish people. And you also tend to forget Polish was one of the languages of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania for a very long time, which means it is historical for your country.
Ah, and one more thing: contrary to the Lithuanian community, the Belarusian, Polish, and Ukrainian communities have invited me to their events and so on despite I don't even live there. When they have any objection towards any of my edits, they contact me directly before doing anything (mostly directly through chatting communicators like Telegram). Learn friendliness, courage and communication skills from them! It's much better for Lithuania's image!

??????? Where?

Hello.
You shouldn't have removed it as it is an important feature we have on the map to be able to guide people towards such places, especially given the fact the Azure Window itself doesn't exist anymore. Moreover, if they don't know where to go without our map, then it is a bit of a pity...

Labas! :) Thanks for the info.
I think someone already fixed it

Здравствуйте. Я не знаю, где моя ошибка. Давайте изправляйте сам, поэтому что я не знаю где она. Я занимался парком в Латвии, который был на границе с Россией, и рекой "Кира" между RUS а LV.

What in the world are you talking about?

Tas adresas yra. Jeigu netiki, tai važiuok pats tenais ir žinosi labai greitai. Ne mano kaltė kad Vilniaus miesto dokumentai nėra tobulus.

Here it is written "A31" on the front of the building. If you walk on the left side of the building, you will see "31A". So NO, Tomas, you don't know everything.

Why should I invent an address that doesn't exist at my age? If you live in Vilnius, go and see for yourself. I've been there yesterday and no map indicated that address, but it really exists. I can show you my dashcam video if you want. Stop reverting things without asking, because this is against OSM policies.

Hello Tomas. Have you been erasing all the multilingual names I've been putting lately?

Hello Yaugenka.
Thanks for your proposition, but I am already in the Telegram discussion for a long time.
Remember we already had this discussion a couple of months ago with the DWG with a similar case. What is on the roadsign *prevails* over the data the administration has.
And this is again the kind of case where the Belarusian administration's data is one big mess. Sometimes it is outdated, and sometimes it is wrong (I had cases with 2 villages placed exactly the opposite as they are in reality). Hence, we don't need to confuse travelers even more with questions why they see "Станцыя Ражанка" instead of "Ражанка".
Those 2 villages are differentiated not only on the ground, but also on pre-war Polish maps (Różanka vs. Stacja Różanka). If the ground truth showed "Ражанка", I wouldn't have changed that. You already know my aim is not at vandalizing, just showing the ground truth.
As we had agreed at that time with that case we had discussed with the DWG, I left the official name in the "alt_name" so the data isn't lost. You already have a village called simply "Ражанка" nearby, which will only confuse travellers.

Thank you for your understanding.
Regards,
J.

"Hudahaj" was left as "alt_name" for a purpose; and it was already discussed with the DWG a couple of months ago. I've been driving there since 2015 and I've already noticed it. The fact that the Belarusian administration's data is a a mess is not our fault, and the rules of OSM are very clear: you have to put the name appearing on the road sign. Moreover, if you look also at pre-war Polish maps you will discover the name was "Stacja Gudogaje". The only thing called simply "Hudahaj" is the train station itself. So please do not change it again. Thank you for your understanding.
P.S.: if you live 2km from there, perhaps we have already seen each other ;)

Hi. I made this change a long, long time ago, and yes. It is for navigational purposes. Why? Because no matter what max_speed, hgv etc.you mark, openstreetmap and OSM-based apps like maps.me always choose the "superior" road, right through the city center. There are lots of similar cases in Belarus where bypasses have still got lower numbers (НXXXX) than roads leading right through the city center (РXXX or even МXX).
I do understand fully your point, but is neither your fault, neither my fault if the Belarusian government does nothing to sort that out. To me and several other people we should reflect the reality (= it is better to drive through those НXXXX bypasses than through those РXXX streets).
Please do not revert these changes as long as the problem I mentioned above will exist.
